Welcome to Immunology

The Sutherland Centre of Immunology (SCI) is the main immunological testing laboratory of SEALS.  Located at our Sutherland campus, SCI provides a comprehensive Immunological diagnostic and consultative service to local, area, and national and international clients.  The centre has established research and development programs with close links with the School of Pathology at the University of New South Wales. SCI is committed to high quality diagnostic immunological services that include the evaluation of humoral and cell mediated immunity. The laboratory is also a reference laboratory for complement assays as well as having expertise in autoantibodies and T cell subsets. A comprehensive range of allergens are detected. The protein chemistry service includes tumour markers assays, protein electrophoresis, immunofixation, and isoelectric focussing. Acute phase proteins and immunoglobulins are assayed by nephelometry.
